My dear Goldie
You spoke beautifully! I remember the days when Carmel School was a dream and how it began. 300 students!!! Baruch HaShem. What an amazing journey . The Rakover family treasures the memories of those early years and being a part of the Hong Kong Community. You and Mordechai were always open and welcoming. It comes to mind that when garrett was studying for his bar mitzvah back in 1991-2, and we were based in Taipei , mordechai learned with Garrett by Fax and Phone. Back in the 80's and 90's how we worked on a Kashrut Guide...those were experiences i would have hated to have missed. You were tireless in your efforts and continue to be. Your skills and talents, tenacity and resourcefulness, are true gifts from HaShem, may you continue to go from strength to strength and reap nachot from your family and all hashem shines on you. Love you

Praise and gratitude. I feel the same way as a bas Bait in the late 80's helping build your home (literally) and the Chabad presence in HK. We are in Jerusalem now me my husband and our son. Had it not been your amazing work I don't know where I would be today.
Our son attends a yiddish speaking cheder in Geula, learning mishnios, halacha and much much more. He is a proud and happy Jew.
May we always know from Smichot. Goldie you are such a mentor and kind leader.
May HaShem continue to Bless you and the family with great success.

As a person who experienced all the things you talked about personally, I can only say thank you! You, the Rabbi and your children all approached each person who came through your house as a whole world in the making, and thanks to you, this ex-Chabad house regular has succeeded in building a religious home with 6 children (Thank G-d) in Eretz Yisrael. If the Hong Kong shluchim were struggling in the early 90s, it never showed, and being in your house was always enlightening, fun and an immensely spiritual experience. Bracha v hatzlachah! Reply
