Disc 24, Program 95

Event Date: 12 Tammuz 5745 - July 01, 1985

The Previous Rebbe worked tirelessly to strengthen all areas of Jewish observance under communist oppression. Still, the primary charge for which he was imprisoned and exiled, was for his underground network of education for Jewish children. Clearly, then, the Rebbe’s liberation, as well, was mainly a victory for Jewish education.

Through his efforts then and through the students he raised to have great self-sacrifice, Russian Jews and their families throughout the world live beautiful Jewish lives. Behind the Iron Curtain, too, his students continue to work underground, helping Jews practice Judaism to the greatest extent possible.

We must all sacrifice for Jewish education. Inner doubts and outside obstacles dare not stop us. The success of the Rebbe’s efforts, itself, inspires confidence, resolve and complete dedication to reaching every Jewish child.
