A book about the history of Israel’s Diamond Exchange has been making the rounds of municipal leaders in and around the exchange’s four-building compound in the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan.
Published by Rabbi Chagai Halevi, director of the Chabad-Lubavitch center serving the exchange, The Diamond in the Crown chronicles the institution’s 70-year history from its beginnings during the British Mandate to its global presence today.
The exchange houses the world’s largest diamond-trading floor.
Avi Paz, president of the exchange and president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, has given copies of the book to Mayor Yaakov Asher of B’nei Brak and mayors of other neighboring cities.
